Whether individual managed services or full outsourcing - as a Network & Security Engineer (m/f/d) you will develop and operate our network security services as part of a team and provide conceptual advice to our customers. As part of our portfolio, you will develop solutions in line with customer requirements and take responsibility for developing solutions in the implementation process and setting up the technical solution. The work is varied and responsible and certainly never boring.

Senior Network & Security Engineer (m/f/d)

Your tasks

• You will provide our customers with expert advice on the implementation and optimization of modern IT security solutions
• You will be responsible for planning, setting up and administering data center and customer networks
• You configure and operate firewalls, IDS/IPS systems from Check Point, Fortinet, VMware NSX
• Your tasks will also include setting up and supporting web application firewalls (WAF) with a focus on Fortinet
• You will automate firewall and network systems using Python, Terraform and Ansible
• You keep an eye on new technology trends and integrate proven best practices into existing and new infrastructures
• You support sales and service management in the pre-sales process and contribute your technical expertise to the creation of convincing offers
• Together with Product Management, you will be responsible for our existing security services and drive their further development
• The release management of your services is in your hands and is supported by Asset Management (CMDB) and IT Operations
• You support the sales team with troubleshooting and coordinate contact with the manufacturers if necessary

Your profile

• You have several years of experience in firewall administration in the areas of Check Point, Fortinet, Azure, WAF
• You have in-depth knowledge of common network protocols and network security
• Whether working independently or as part of a team, you will implement configurations and ensure that security solutions transition smoothly into stable operation
• Taking responsibility for your solutions is a matter of course for you, and you want the entire network and security team to benefit from this
• You are characterized by strong communication skills and team spirit; you prefer clear, precise and personal communication in order to convey even complex topics in an understandable way
• Structured and analytical work is one of your strengths, as is a methodical approach, for example when creating concepts
• You enjoy familiarizing yourself with new technologies and continuously expanding your knowledge - and are happy to share it to help both the team and our customers move forward
• You are business fluent in German and have a good command of English
