🧭 Project Overview
Project: Internal Tooling & Automation Development
Client: Henkel – Chemistry & Consumer Goods, multinational
Goal: Accelerate Data Governance and Enablement through custom internal tools and automation platforms. You will work on building scalable full-stack solutions across backend, frontend, APIs, and AI-driven automation to improve data quality, access control, and operational efficiency.
Team: Central Data Governance Team, including a Data Engineer, 2 Product Owners, and a Lead Engineer
Start: ASAP
Duration: 3–6 months
Location: Remote (Europe time zone preferred, up to ±4h from Germany)
Language: English
Contract Type: Freelance
Workload: Full-time (8h/day)
Travel: Nice-to-have but not required
Client location: Core team in Düsseldorf, Germany


🛠️ Scope of Work
• Design and implement tools and services that enforce data governance policies, improve data quality, and streamline access control.
• Build and maintain full-stack internal platforms and dashboards (Python, Flask/FastAPI, React).
• Develop APIs and automation tools (REST, GraphQL, chatbots, Teams/Slack bots).
• Integrate automation across Azure, Databricks, and SAP ecosystems.
• Support both technical and non-technical stakeholders with scalable solutions.
• Champion best practices in CI/CD, infrastructure (Terraform, GitHub Actions), and observability.


✅ Must-Have Skills
• Fullstack development with Python (Flask or FastAPI) and React
• API design: REST, GraphQL, webhooks
• Azure Data Services (Data Factory, Data Lake, Synapse) – AWS as an alternative
• Databricks (PySpark, Delta Lake, Notebooks)
• SQL, ETL pipeline design
• CI/CD (GitHub Actions), Terraform
• Monitoring, observability, logging best practices


💡 Nice-to-Have Skills
• Experience with AI/NLP tooling (LangChain, RAG, OpenAI APIs)
• SAP data integration
• Building tools for data quality, lineage, and access control
• GitHub portfolio or open-source contributions


👤 Ideal Candidate Profile
• Strong hands-on experience in delivering fullstack and platform solutions
• 4+ years of experience with a diverse tech background
• Tech/startup background preferred
• Fluent English
• Clear communicator, proactive, self-starter, and delivery-focused
