Senior Product Engineer (Frontend)

Overview

We’re hiring a Senior Product Engineer (Frontend) to design and build intuitive, scalable interfaces for the deepset AI Platform. You’ll own features end to end, create reusable components, and evolve our design system to support real-world, complex workflows. You’ll champion frontend best practices and collaborate with Product, Design, and Backend teams to shape how developers and enterprises interact with our platform.

What you will do

• Own the full lifecycle of new features, from ideation to production
• Build high-quality, scalable UI components for complex workflows
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Backend teams to shape the user experience
• Contribute to and evolve our design system for consistency and usability
• Review PRs, maintain quality standards, and fix issues as needed
• Occasionally handle urgent “firefighting” tasks and production issues
• Drive frontend engineering best practices, CI/CD improvements, and documentation
• Mentor teammates and foster a strong frontend culture

What you bring to the team

• 5+ years as a Frontend Engineer, ideally in fast-paced or startup environments
• Proficient in JavaScript and modern frameworks—our stack: TypeScript, React, Redux, Sass
• Strong grasp of frontend architecture, performance, and debugging techniques
• Experienced with writing and maintaining tests
• Proactive, collaborative, and comfortable taking ownership

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Python and backend systems
• Previous experience building software for enterprise customers
• Background or interest in NLP/LLM technologies
• Experience contributing to or evolving design systems
• Open-source experience is a plus
