A bit about Field
To reach Net Zero, we need to solve big problems. Field will fund, build and run the renewable infrastructure we need to tackle these challenges. At Field, we will show that batteries are a totally viable part of our energy infrastructure - now, not in some distant future.

With a strong financial foundation and an extensive portfolio of battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in Germany, the UK, Italy, and Spain, we are actively driving the energy transition. Our most recent fundraising secured a £200 million investment from CVC DIF to accelerate our international growth and build a global BESS portfolio.

In Germany, we are expanding rapidly: Our first battery storage project of approximately 32 MWh is currently in construction phase, with others to follow soon. Our goal is to establish a multi-GW pipeline of operational assets by 2030, strengthening the stability and flexibility of the German power grid.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently manage battery energy storage projects (BESS) from site acquisition through to ready-to-build status.
• Take responsibility for complex BESS projects and drive them to success—technically, commercially, and strategically.
• Shape our key projects such as detailed programmes and risk registers to keep delivery on track and risks under control.
• Steer our BESS projects with strategic foresight and actively shape the energy transition.

We are a dynamic, curious, and entrepreneurial team determined to make battery storage a core pillar of the energy transition—not at some distant point in the future, but right now. Our long-term ambition is to become a leading clean energy player in Germany and Europe in the coming years, expanding our portfolio beyond battery storage.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise


Your Tasks
This is a broad and varied role with the opportunity to have massive impact. Key responsibilities including:

Project Development & Management

• Identifying and evaluating potential sites for BESS projects ( e.g. grid analysis, site constraint analysis, legal framework & permissibility)
• Coordinating permitting procedures (e.g. environmental approvals, building permits, preliminary building requests, B-Plan procedures)

Stakeholder Management

• Liaising with landowners, municipalities and authorities
• Presenting projects to investors, partners, and decision-makers
• Collaborating with internal teams (e.g. engineering, legal, finance)

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintaining accurate project documentation and ensuring audit-readiness
• Preparing internal memos and project updates for senior management
• Building and maintaining detailed project programmes to ensure on-time delivery
• Creating and managing project risk registers to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks
• Supporting due diligence processes for external stakeholders and financiers

Contract Management

• Preparing and reviewing contracts (lease agreements, cooperation contracts)


The skills you’ll need

• Demonstrated experience in project development through the entire lifecycle of a project (ideally in renewables or storage)
• Strong knowledge of relevant regulations and markets in Germany
• Independent and structured working style with high attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills in German and English
• Able to collaborate across disciplines and with multi-cultural, international teams
• Familiarity with construction permits, environmental impact assessments and the commissioning of required studies
