Description
This team designs and operates the API layer at the heart of a large-scale cloud platform. The system enables customers to spin up, scale, and manage essential compute and storage resources while ensuring reliable connectivity and performance.
It owns one of the most central control planes of the infrastructure - a foundation that other services and products depend on.


What You’ll Work On:
The compute API is the primary entry point for managing infrastructure. Its responsibilities include:
• Provisioning and lifecycle management of virtual machines, block storage, and filesystems
• Supporting specialised networking paths for performance-intensive use cases
• Defining policies for scheduling, maintenance, and recovery of workloads
It acts as the glue between hardware-level resources and higher-level platform features, touching nearly every service in the ecosystem.


Tech Environment
Languages & APIs: Go, gRPC, Protobuf
Workflows: Temporal (for complex operations)
Platform: Kubernetes, Terraform
Integrations: Identity, billing, quota management, networking, monitoring, support tooling


The Team
• A small group of backend engineers plus a lead
• End-to-end ownership across architecture, coding, deployment, and operations
• Shared decision-making on priorities and technical debt
• Direct involvement in both day-to-day delivery and long-term design

Salary & Location:
Up to 150k Euro/Year Base - DoE - *(Staff roles available too with higher bandings) | Remote Germany with office option in Berlin.
