Senior Software Engineer (Application/Runtime)

Overview

Arm is seeking skilled, experienced, and highly motivated Software Release and Test engineers to join the Automotive and Industrial Solutions (AIS) team in our Software Engineering group. You will contribute to Arm technology deployed in the next generation of Arm Automotive Solutions.

You will join a globally distributed team of Software Developers who share a passion for advancing computing and groundbreaking technologies.

Responsibilities

• Release engineering and branch management for the production firmware releases.
• Preparing test specification and test plans based on design documents of software and hardware modules.
• Providing tested releases of production quality downstream firmware to partners.
• Documentation of release notes and effective communication to internal and external partners.
• Supporting the management of CI pipelines for downstream firmware release processes.

Education & Qualifications

Good university degree (or equivalent experience), ideally in a numerate subject.

Essential Skills & Qualities

• Proven experience in both Release management and Test automation of product quality system software.
• Experience in software building and build management – for official downstream software and formal releases.
• Experienced in the application of Yocto SDK.
• Hands on experience of test code development and automation for firmware or system software. Python and Bash scripts skills are required.
• System validation experience of Linux embedded platforms.
• Verification and Validation of embedded software release candidates and releases.

Desirable Skills & Qualities

• Defect triaging and defect management experience of system software releases.
• Exposure to static and dynamic code analysis tools.
• Experience with Security Development Lifecycle (SDL) practices.
• Exposure to the Sphinx based documentation generator.
