We recently secured €6.3 million in February 2025 to accelerate our growth and scale our existing product with paying customers. We are looking for a Founding Engineer to serve as the key Systems Architect—a pragmatic, hands-on leader to own the scalability and feature set of our core platform. This journey requires hard work and no compromises on our ambitious vision. Core Responsibilities: Full Ownership & High-Paced ExecutionSystem Architecture & Scaling: Lead architectural decisions and own the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of scalable backend systems and infrastructure to support our rapid growth.Full-Stack Impact: Function as the primary individual contributor across the entire stack, ensuring high-quality, deployable solutions are delivered weekly.Cultural Leadership (Captain/Guardian): Actively participate in our specific cycle roles to maintain focus and collective ownership:Captain: Periodically lead the weekly release cycle, ensuring features are on track and communicating the scope across the company.Guardian: Periodically serve as the designated owner of all interruptions, bugs, and urgent requests to protect the focus and productivity of the rest of the team.AI Integration & Feature Delivery: Demonstrate a strong ability to integrate complex AI/ML solutions into our production platform to solve domain-specific financial problems (e.g., automated document processing, classification). Requirements:Founding/Principal Engineer level with 8+ years of professional software engineering experience and a proven track record of architectural leadership and 100% hands-on execution.Technical Breadth & Depth: Strong foundation in system design and architecture. Proficiency in multiple key technologies (e.g., Python, Node.js, Java/Kotlin, React/TypeScript).Commitment: Full commitment to Integral as your primary professional focus, with bandwidth for deep technical ownership.Culture: Alignment with our office-first culture (for essential collaboration) and relentless optimism for changing the future of business finance.Able to work 5 days a week on-site in Berlin.
