Senior Specialist, Financial Accounting

About the Role:

Grade Level (for internal use): 09

The Team: Reporting to the Country Controller, you are part of the EMEA Enterprise Controllership Leadership team, responsible for managing accounting operations in the region and supporting the Company’s accounting and finance activities.

This is Hybrid role with 2 days per week work from S&P Global Frankfurt office

The Impact: This position supports the EMEA Controllers team locally to ensure internal and external reporting is timely and in compliance with local statutory requirements. It also partners with business and operations to ensure governance and internal controls are adhered to, driving operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze key balance sheet and P&L accounts; prepare and post associated journals.
• Support month‑end processes, including journal preparation and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Code and handle supplier invoices.
• Calculate, post and reconcile prepaid expenses.
• Maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Reconcile business travels.
• Collect and prepare information for auditors.
• Prepare VAT data.
• Fixed asset accounting.
• Support on projects, ad‑hoc analysis for legal entities in scope.

What We’re Looking For

Basic Qualifications:

• 3 years’ experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably in public accounting.
• Good understanding of general accounting.
• Time management skills and ability to prioritize, attention to detail.
• Good English language skills.
• Strong problem‑solving ability.
• Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Well organized and able to prioritize conflicting deadlines.
• Strong desire to exceed expectations, results oriented.
• Team player with good working relationships.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
• German and/or Polish language skills are very welcome.
