Senior VAT Specialist

Location: Stuttgart

Our client is seeking a Senior VAT Specialist to join their team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring VAT compliance across multiple European markets and will play a key part in managing daily VAT matters and supporting cross-border operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure VAT compliance across multiple European legal entities.
• Coordinate with external advisors on VAT returns, registrations, and payments.
• Review and approve VAT filings and related documentation.
• Perform VAT audits and transaction reviews, particularly during month-end.
• Advise internal teams on VAT matters (e.g., invoicing, contract review).
• Support implementation and compliance with electronic invoicing regulations in relevant markets.

Your Profile

• University degree in economics, law, or finance with a focus on taxation or international trade.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in VAT or tax roles, ideally within an international company or consultancy.
• Solid understanding of EU VAT regulations and cross-border supply chain processes.
• Familiarity with import/export procedures (freight, sea, air).
• Strong knowledge of VAT legislation and reporting requirements.
• Proficient in MS Office and SAP; fluent in German and English.
• Analytical, solution-oriented mindset with strong coordination and communication skills.
