About the Orb

The Orb is a secure biometric imaging system that locally analyzes biometric images and authenticates World IDs without backend storage. It runs on a custom GNU/Linux OS on NVIDIA Jetson and is used by millions of devices worldwide.

About the Opportunity

The Device Software team owns all software running on the Orb, including the biometric imaging system, on‑device fraud detection, and a security‑hardened operating system. You will advance the Orb’s software to new levels of scale, decentralization, and performance, working on projects such as porting to Android, optimizing image capture, and enabling software verifiability.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in systems programming, robotics, IoT devices, or related fields.
Experience using Rust and Linux in real‑world applications.
Experience shipping software to large fleets of devices.
Experience building AOSP‑based devices and integrating hardware‑specific HALs.
Experience building security‑critical applications.
Excellent communication and project‑management skills.
Mission‑driven and team‑oriented mindset.
