About The Team

The Group Tax team is responsible for all tax matters concerning the Unzer Group, which includes legal entities in Germany, Austria, Luxembourg, and Denmark. This role is mid-level to senior and will report directly to the Group Head of Tax.

What your work will look like:

• Report to the Group Head of Tax and support in managing Unzer Group’s tax position in Germany and across Europe
• Oversee the tax compliance obligations of the group, including managing requests from external tax advisors and providing information as required
• Prepare and submit the monthly VAT return for the German parent entity
• Review tax audit requests, provide information to external tax advisors/tax authorities, and discuss tax findings
• Monitor cash tax payments and ensure timely settlement in collaboration with Treasury and Accounting teams
• Support in updating and maintaining transfer pricing documentation
• Manage ongoing and ad-hoc VAT queries within the business
• Support ad hoc requests and provide tax guidance as needed
• Assist in establishing the Group Tax Function, processes, and policy input
• Support tax due diligence, structuring, and modelling for transactions
• Assist in group restructurings
• Support complex tax research and tax planning strategies

What you need to be successful in this role:

• Tax qualified professional (Steuerberater or similar)
• 4+ years of experience in international taxation, preferably in Big 10 Advisory firm, Financial Services, or Corporate Group
• Fluent in German and English
• Effective stakeholder management skills
• Project management and coordination skills
• Ability to work autonomously and prioritize under pressure
• Willingness to challenge processes and do things differently
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent team player
