Site Reliability Engineer (m / f / x)

Job Description

Tipico is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join our team. Grow with us, introduce us to new ideas, and develop products that maximize the thrill of sports for our customers. Responsibilities

• You are running the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health
• You are building software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications
• You are improving the reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions
• You are measuring and optimising system performance with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating for continuous improvement
• You are providing primary operational support and engineering for multiple large-scale distributed software applications
• You are gathering and analysing metrics from operating systems as well as applications to assist in performance tuning and fault-finding
• You are partnering with development teams to improve services
• You are participating in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning
• You are creating sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts
• You are balancing feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service-level objectives

Qualifications

• Education . Bachelor / master’s degree in computer science or an equivalent degree
• Experience . 2+ years of experience in similar positions like Senior Software Developer or Performance Lab Engineer
• Programming Skills . You can program (structured and OOP) using one or more high-level languages, such as Java, JavaScript and Python
• Subject Matter Expert . You are an expert in cloud computing technologies (AWS)
• You have solid knowledge and experience working with Kubernetes (administration, optimisation, CRDs)
• Proficiency in CI / CD and provisioning tools (GitHub actions, Terraform)
• Issues are challenges for you. You have a proactive approach in identifying problems, performance bottlenecks, and areas for improvement
• Benefit . Vendor certifications (AWS) or equivalent, Experience in a Java-based development environment (Java Background is of benefit)
• Language skills . You are fluent in English. If you have a working knowledge of German, it would be an advantage
