Senior Backend Engineer | €80k–€180k | Amsterdam or Remote (EU only)

We are hiring experienced backend engineers to join a fast-scaling, international technology company building large-scale distributed systems that power some of the most demanding workloads in the industry. This is an opportunity to work on complex engineering challenges at scale, alongside a world-class technical team.


The role:

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will design and develop fault-tolerant, highly scalable cloud services used across multiple product lines. You will work with modern technologies in a collaborative environment where engineering quality and system reliability are top priorities.


What you’ll do:

• Build and optimise large-scale distributed systems for high-load environments
• Work on cloud infrastructure services including managed Kubernetes, databases, monitoring, billing, and ML services
• Contribute to system design, architecture, and technical strategy for your team
• Collaborate closely with engineers across multiple teams to deliver production-grade services
• Participate in code reviews, technical deep dives, and knowledge sharing sessions


What we’re looking for:

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, ideally within high-scale or big tech environments
• Strong expertise in at least one backend language: Golang (preferred), Java, C++ or Python, with openness to switch to Golang
• Proven experience designing or building distributed systems at scale
• Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and system design principles
• Ability to write clean, reliable, and maintainable code


Nice to have:

• Experience leading technical discussions or mentoring junior engineers
• Exposure to cloud-native technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, or distributed databases
