Overview
Our Data Engineering team empowers users with trusted data that is easy to access, understand and use to support evidence-based business decisions. We partner with data analysts and delivery teams to provide and maintain a self-service data platform that delivers value for the business. Our data infrastructure uses a modern tech stack and cloud services.
Your responsibilities
- Collaboration: Work with data analysts, software engineers, and partners across the organization to create data products for internal and external use.
- Software Engineering: Build and operate data products and pipelines. Practice trunk-based development, test-driven development (TDD), monorepo structure, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD). We often pair program to share knowledge and ensure high quality. We encourage and experiment with using AI to improve productivity.
- Architecture: Use modern data engineering tools and services and ensure our data architecture integrates well with surrounding tools and services.
- Operation/Monitoring: Leverage observability tools (e.g., Datadog, PagerDuty) to proactively detect data quality problems in data pipelines.
That´s you
- 3+ years of experience as a software engineer with a passion for data. Software engineering know-how, willingness to learn, and collaboration skills are valued as much as direct data engineering experience.
- Ideally experience with complex data modeling, ELT design, and data lakes, as well as Big Data technologies (e.g., Apache Iceberg) and AWS technologies (Glue, Athena, Redshift, S3, Lambda).
- Strong software engineering skills with Python and SQL.
- Knowledge of data lakehouse architectures (Apache Iceberg, AWS Glue, S3, Redshift) and data management (Airflow, Fivetran, DuckDB). Experience with infrastructure provisioning tools (e.g., Terraform) is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with a multicultural team.
