Overview
Role: Solution Architect - Marketing Cloud. Location: Germany, office flex based. About Salesforce: Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, helping customers with AI+Data+CRM through a values-driven approach. The role is to advise, design, and lead the transformation of cloud-based marketing solutions for enterprise customers, partnering with Delivery Managers, Technical Architects, and Account Teams.
Responsibilities
- Advise, design, and lead the transformation of cloud-based marketing solutions for clients, ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency.
- Engage directly with clients to architect scalable, data-driven solutions that enhance customer engagement and drive business value.
- Serve as a trusted advisor translating business requirements into robust technical architectures using Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud, and Personalization.
- Design and oversee the implementation of technology solutions that meet business needs and ensure they are scalable and maintainable.
- Work with Delivery Managers, Technical Architects, and Account Teams to align client expectations and deliverables.
- Lead development efforts when needed and maintain an hands-on approach to solution delivery.
- Identify and mitigate risks, and proactively address issues to keep programs on track.
- Contribute to the program vision and articulate program/project strategies to enable technologies including the Salesforce platform.
Key Experiences
- Solution Design & Architecture: Experience designing scalable, integrated solutions across Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC), Data Cloud, Datorama, and Interaction Studio.
- Customer Journey Orchestration: Understanding of Journey Builder, segmentation strategies, and omnichannel marketing execution.
- Data Management & Integration: Hands-on experience with Data Extensions, SQL, APIs, and integrating Salesforce platforms with external systems.
- Personalization & AI: Experience with Interaction Studio (Personalization) to create real-time customer experiences and the ability to leverage tools like Prompt Builder to enable organizations.
- Analytics & Insights: Proficiency in marketing analytics, dashboards, and data visualization; Tableau and Datorama knowledge is a plus.
- Governance & Best Practices: Establish and apply best practices, guidelines, and compliance requirements for implementations.
Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Marketing Automation, Customer Data Platforms, and Digital Analytics.
- Deep expertise in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud, Datorama, and Interaction Studio (Personalization).
- High-level knowledge of ETL processes, data pipelines, and marketing analytics tools.
- Salesforce certifications (e.g., Marketing Cloud Consultant, Data Cloud Consultant) are a plus.
- Excellent communication skills in German and English.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Problem-solving mindset and strategic thinking.
- Knowledge of security, compliance, and industry best practices.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new concepts, business models, and technologies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to develop materials appropriate for the audience.
- Experience with large-scale/enterprise implementations with multiple work streams.
- Strong listening and collaboration skills across diverse roles.
- Resourceful and entrepreneurial thinker with problem-solving abilities.
- Travel up to ~20-30% may be required; exact travel varies by customer.
- Degree or equivalent proven experience.
Preferred Requirements
- Validated results delivering high-value business outcomes using agile approaches.
- Experience leading customer and/or partner success stories.
- Relevant Salesforce certifications and consulting experience are strongly recommended.
