Job Summary

We are looking for a Solution Engineer (Windows Admin) to strengthen our PDFCreator Team in Hamburg. PDFCreator is a world-renowned application used by millions, that functions as a virtual printer, enabling users to create PDFs and set up automated workflows. The position involves supporting the development team with testing, maintaining test and demo environments, and assisting customer service with technical guidance.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with developers: reproduce issues, track and evaluate bugs, test new features and bug fixes, and document results clearly.
• Maintain and optimize test and demo environments.
• Ensure PDFCreator runs smoothly across different Windows environments (e.g., Windows Server, RDS/VDI, hybrid setups) by configuring and troubleshooting.
• Act as a bridge between teams, clients, and customer service by joining technical calls, gathering requirements, providing guidance, and supporting complex cases.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (Bac +5) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Additional specialization in Windows system administration or related areas is a plus.
• Strong background in Windows system administration (Windows 10/11, Windows Server, RDHS, Active Directory, Group Policy, VPN).
• Experience with desktop applications, ideally including printer/driver solutions, with deep understanding of Windows printing in domain environments - including integration with non-Windows clients.
• Familiarity with testing practices (manual testing, issue reproduction, test case execution).
• Knowledge of scripting/automation (PowerShell preferred, Python would be a plus).
• Customer-oriented mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for process and business improvements.
• Good communication skills for client and cross-team collaboration.
• Proficient in English, with good German skills (sufficient for customer interaction).
