Solutions Engineer, Professional Services DACH

Location: Germany. Travel expectations: 60%+ including international travel. Reporting to: Director, EMEA Professional Services. Direct Reports: None.

Your Impact

Axon is seeking a Professional Services Manager to join a brand-new team to support our growing customer base with Axon product deployments predominantly in DACH and occasionally in wider EMEA. The role sits between Sales and BAU: it requires broad technical knowledge, product implementation experience and a customer-centric attitude, with the ability to work collaboratively and with agility in a fast-moving environment. You will become an expert in Axon’s SaaS and devices products, consultation and deployment programs, and work with Professional Services, sales, training, customer support, customer success and product teams to ensure a positive deployment experience and strong partnerships. Your efforts will impact revenue-earning activities as you manage multiple high-priority, deadline-driven projects and collaborate to improve Professional Services processes in the EMEA region. Your objective is to delight customers by implementing Axon solutions in line with expectations, delivering quality and value as soon as possible.

Your Day to Day

  • Engage with clients pre-sale to implement Trial and Evaluation programs with Axon products; collaborate on RFP/RFI responses.
  • Post-sale liaison: coordinate across internal functions and external vendors to develop project documentation, deployment plans and SOWs.
  • Travel to customer sites; consult and coordinate on deployment tasks with clients post-sale.
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot and test Axon hardware products and software solutions (cloud and on-prem); perform assessments to meet customer needs.
  • Provide knowledge transfer through technical training, consultation and demonstrations; customise and localise materials.
  • Serve as main contact during deployment and hyper-care to ensure a positive engagement with Axon and our products.
  • Validate product updates and releases; monitor release notes.
  • Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR); advocate for industry best practices during implementation.
  • Submit software bugs and feature requests to product teams for assessment or development.
  • Self-manage and work autonomously; escalate issues when appropriate.
  • Communicate with sales, product, engineers, customer support, customer success and commercial operations; share knowledge with peers and partners.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to keep everyone aligned on requirements, timelines and status.
  • Develop a smooth product deployment experience for customers.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in IT/Business or relevant professional experience (3+ years in IT Consultancy, Professional Services, Field Services or Sales Engineering).
  • German speaker; other European languages a plus. English proficiency essential.
  • Advanced IT/Networking knowledge (e.g., Microsoft Server/Client, SQL Server, Active Directory, Azure Entra ID, APIs, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, SSH, Firewalls) and related certifications.
  • Experience in SaaS and hardware/software environments; knowledge in areas such as Mobile Device Management or Digital Evidence Management is a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve technical problems; familiar with remote and on-site installation and configuration.
  • Experience consulting to meet customer needs; ability to deliver demonstrations and training to groups.
  • Experience managing multiple deployments simultaneously; strong relationship management with internal and external customers.
  • Adaptable to change; able to multitask and work cross-functionally to resolve issues.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Salesforce, SharePoint, Dynamics 365, Zoom, Teams and JIRA. Certifications in Cisco Network, Microsoft Azure or related areas are preferable.
  • Willingness to obtain Drone Pilot or Vehicle Electronics Certifications if required; experience with law enforcement or public sector clients is a plus.
