Job Summary

The Senior FAE/Systems Optimization Engineer is responsible for technical sales activities in new and existing opportunities. This individual will collaborate closely with Sales and Extended Teams to ensure technical proposals meet customer requirements. The Sr. FAE will possess hands-on experience with Supermicro Server/Storage/Embedded and Switching Products, as well as competitor products, and be capable of demonstrating solutions to customers and partners. FAEs are vital during the pre-sales and post-sales cycles, requiring in-depth technical knowledge of products, solutions, and market drivers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer and partner requirements and develop optimized technical solutions.
2. Provide technical leadership during pre-sales and oversee implementation.
3. Resolve complex system architecture issues involving hardware and software interactions.
4. Possess basic hardware debugging skills.
5. Lead product hardware and software engineers during development phases.
6. Manage investigations and resolve field issues collaboratively.
7. Understand firmware, drivers, OS, applications, and their interactions affecting system performance.
8. Develop and review system solutions, technical proposals, and presentations.
9. Coordinate across departments to ensure customer satisfaction and issue resolution.
10. Build and demonstrate proof-of-concept solutions aligned with customer needs.
11. Present company brand, products, and solutions to clients.
12. Conduct on-site visits for solution integration and troubleshooting.
13. Travel up to 25% as required.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering (computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering preferred).
2. Excellent communication and business skills.
3. At least 5 years of related experience with compute/storage servers or data center/IT infrastructure.
4. Strong background in x86-based server architecture.
5. Solid hardware system design and diagnostics skills.
6. Familiarity with firmware, Linux, Windows, and virtualization is a plus.
7. Leadership and technical communication skills for interdisciplinary investigations.
8. Ability to work effectively under pressure.
