Overview
Sr. Media Experimentation Manager - Digital Media (all genders) at Zalando. Focused on measuring true business impact, this pivotal role leads the strategy and execution of causality-driven experimentation (primarily Brand/Conversion Lift studies and advanced A/B tests), employing advanced analytical and statistical methods to isolate the incremental effect of digital media.
This person will work closely with Digital Media, Marketing Analytics, and Measurement teams, applying scientific experimentation to inform budget allocation, optimization strategies, and creative performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong data science background, with expertise in marketing experiments, test-and-learn methodologies, and statistical analysis to validate the real business impact of media investments. They will ensure that insights from tests are accurate, statistically significant, and actionable, directly influencing our digital media planning and optimization.
Responsibilities
- Incrementality / Causal Experimentation: spearhead the strategy and execution of all digital media incrementality experiments (e.g., Brand and Conversion Lift studies, advanced A/B tests), ensuring they directly address questions on causal impact and efficiency.
- In-Depth Analysis & Strategic Insight: conduct rigorous statistical analysis of experiment outcomes to quantify incremental lift, determine statistical significance, and assess true business impact; translate findings into clear recommendations that shape media and targeting strategies.
- Testing Roadmap & Governance: develop, prioritize, and manage a strategic roadmap for media experimentation; establish a comprehensive lifecycle framework (ideation, design standards, execution oversight, knowledge sharing).
- Stakeholder Education: lead education on incrementality and causal measurement to foster evidence-based decision making across the digital media team.
- Leadership & Experience: bring 5+ years of hands-on experience in marketing measurement initiatives, with expertise in designing and executing incrementality tests across major digital platforms (Meta, Google, TikTok, etc.).
- Technical Skills: strong quantitative and analytical mindset with ability to translate business questions into rigorous experimental designs; proficient in SQL; Python experience for advanced statistical analysis or data science applications is a strong plus. Prior experience in media agencies, ad-tech, or marketing science teams is desirable.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in marketing measurement and incrementality testing (e.g., Lift Studies, A/B/n, causal inference methods).
- Strong ability to translate complex business questions into rigorous experimental designs and actionable insights.
- Deep knowledge of statistical testing, regression modeling, and causal impact measurement techniques.
- SQL proficiency; Python for advanced analysis is a strong plus.
- Experience with major digital platforms (e.g., Meta, Google, TikTok) and media environments; prior agency or marketing science team background is preferred.
