Staff Field Applications Engineer  – Automotive Sales Team, Germany (m/f/d) at Wolfspeed 
Join to apply for the Staff Field Applications Engineer role at Wolfspeed. We are looking for a Staff Field Applications Engineer who will join the Automotive Sales Team and help us make the world a better place through innovation, taking risks and questioning conventional thinking, and developing new technologies and ways of doing business – leading the way, every single day. 
This is a full-time position with an aim to hire before the start of the next calendar year. 
 Responsibilities 
 - Provide technical support to key automotive customers 
  - Qualify opportunities and determine technical roadblocks 
  - Support customers through the design cycle, from sample and prototype to pilot, pre-production, and production stages including hardware debugging and system-level knowledge 
  - Work proactively with Sales Account Managers to secure designs and grow revenue 
  - Identify technological trends to drive new product and technology introductions 
  - Collaborate with customers on quality claims in partnership with CQE team 
  - Manage and train distribution FAEs 
  - Communicate effectively with the factory regarding technical requests 
  - Leverage the local laboratory to determine best practices for using SiC components and generate new knowledge 
   
 Qualifications 
Your Profile – Ready to join the Pack?  
 - Educational & Experience  
  - MSc. in Electrical or Electronic Engineering 
  - 3-5 years experience in one of the following roles: Power Semiconductor FAE, Application Engineer or R&D in Power Electronics for Powertrain 
   
  - Technical Skills  
  - Strong technical communication skills with the ability to interact with customers’ engineers at both system and component level 
  - Comfortable working with and operating high-voltage semiconductors 
  - Experience in circuit design, component selection, loss calculation, layout, and magnetic design for automotive applications 
  - Fundamental knowledge of various semiconductor devices, including Diodes, BJTs, JFETs, MOSFETs, IGBTs, etc. 
  - Proficient in using MS Office and knowledgeable in LTspice and PLECS 
   
  - Soft Skills  
  - Analytical thinker and a team player 
  - Familiar with industrial standards and compliances (JEDEC, AEC-Q, UL, EMI/EMC, etc.) 
  - Ability to travel frequently to provide onsite customer support 
  - Fluent in English and German 
  - Capable of achieving goals with minimal supervision and strong proactivity
