The Institute for Medical and Pharmaceutical Examination Questions (IMPP) is responsible for the content of key components of the nationwide state examinations for the fields of medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, and psychotherapy training, in close cooperation with expert committees. The state examinations are continuously being refined, and new examination formats are being tested. Through its wide-ranging responsibilities, the IMPP, as a central institution for all federal states based in Mainz, contributes significantly to the quality assurance of training programs and thus to comprehensive healthcare for our population. The Examinations & Information Technology Department is seeking, as soon as possible, a
2nd Level IT Infrastructure System Administrator (m/f/d)

Your responsibilities

• Design, monitoring, and further development of the IT infrastructure, as well as updating the IT strategy
• Planning, setting up, administering, and optimizing servers, networks, virtualization, and storage systems
• Implementation and operation of IT security measures, including firewalls and endpoint security
• Monitoring of the IT infrastructure
• Planning, setup, and monitoring of backup structures
• License management

Your qualifications

• Completed degree (Diploma (FH) / Bachelor’s) in Computer Science or vocational training as an IT technician (m/f/d) or IT specialist (m/f/d) with several years of relevant professional experience
• Knowledge of planning, designing, setting up, and operating complex IT infrastructures
• Very good language skills (German at least at the B2 level)
• High degree of independence, initiative, and motivation, as well as strong conceptual and organizational skills

• The following skills are desirable

• - In-depth knowledge of Linux, especially Debian & Ubuntu Linux
• - Knowledge of server virtualization, especially Proxmox
• - SAN / NAS, especially TrueNAS
• - Veeam Backup
• - Microsoft Windows Server& 2019)
• - Databases: PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MS-SQL 2019,
• - IT Security, ideally WatchGuard firewalls / security products, MFA authentication
