Absence Leave Specialists review claims for leaves of absence and decide if the person applying is eligible to have their leave request approved. Handling various levels of claims gives you the opportunity to interact and make a difference for our clients on a daily basis.
Review claim requests to ensure the person applying for leave meets all the requirements for approval, including their medical condition, the recommendations of their health care providers, and federal or state guidelines.
Reach out to employees, employers, health care providers, and attorneys to get the paperwork or information you need to make a decision.
Serve our Clients in a caring and empathetic manner, communicating clearly with them the decisions you make.
Approve the leave if the person meets all the requirements.
Ensure your claim decisions match the insurance contract and follow all state, federal, and corporate laws, regulations, and procedures.
Process claims in a timely manner with accuracy.
Protect and maintain personal health information with a high level of confidentiality according to Sun Life procedures and federal rules and regulations.

Salary Range: $52,500 - $70,900

Your actual base salary will be determined based on your unique skills, qualifications, experience, education, and geographic location. In addition to your base salary, this position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive award based on your individual performance as well as the overall performance of the business.
