The Department of Law at Johannes Gutenberg University, Faculty 03 , Law and Economics, is seeking to fill a doctoral position as a research assistant at the Chair of Media Law, Cultural Law and Public Law .

• Independent research with the aim of obtaining a doctorate
• Presentation of own research results at conferences and workshops
• Participation in joint research projects at the chair
• Teaching to the extent required by law by taking on working groups and advising and supervising students
• Assistance in the preparation and conduct of examinations
• Participation in organisational and administrative tasks (chair organisation)
• A successfully completed scientific university degree/at least a first degree in public law, preferably with a focus on public communications or media law, completed with very good results (Prädikatsexamen)
• In the case of an application for a postdoctoral position: a relevant doctoral degree
• Focus of interest in public communications, media or constitutional law
• Very good written and spoken German language skills
• Good written and spoken English skills
• Willingness to participate in the usual tasks of a university chair
• Strong team, organisational and communication skills
• Ability and willingness to work independently, theoretically sound and interdisciplinary
• A successfully completed university degree

In addition to the general requirements according to public services law, applicants must meet the recruitment requirements stipulated in § 57 of the Hochschulgesetz of Rhineland-Palatinate.

The position is paid according to EG 13 TV-L and to be filled immediately. The position is limited to a period of 2 years.

The position serves the purpose of academic qualification (doctorate/habilitation).

In the case of a postdoctoral qualification, a full-time position is provided; in the case of a doctorate, the position can also be filled on a part-time basis.
