Account Manager – Advanced Surgery / Klinik Außendienst

Our Business Unit Advanced Surgery develops and markets innovative surgical solutions that reduce complications from bleeding and improve healing processes, such as hemostatic products, tissue sealants and sealers. As an Account Manager in this unit you will combine medical knowledge with entrepreneurial thinking to partner strategically with customers in the hospital sector and directly improve surgical care.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership: independently manage your sales territory, maintain existing customer relationships, and actively identify new business opportunities in the hospital sector.
  • Provide depth of consulting: accompany surgical procedures, conduct product trainings and workshops, and position Baxter as a trusted partner for surgeons and clinical staff.
  • Act strategically: use customer analyses to develop individual growth strategies, perform price and volume analysis, and plan actions that ensure sustainable profitability.
  • Build networks: maintain relationships with opinion leaders, decision makers in procurement, pharmacy and hospital administration to foster long‑term partnerships.
  • Drive innovation: support the introduction of new products through concept testing and support scientific events such as P2P workshops and symposia.
  • Collaborate: work closely with Marketing, Medical, Supply Chain and Bids & Tenders to advance business development in your region.

Qualifications

  • Completed degree in natural, economic or health economics sciences or an equivalent qualification with relevant work experience.
  • Pharmaceutical representative (IHK) or equivalent knowledge according to § 75 AMG.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in pharmaceutical or medical‑technical field sales, preferably in the hospital business.
  • Proven success in key account management and in supporting surgical customers.
  • Enthusiasm for OR environments and direct interaction with surgeons.
  • High level of initiative, entrepreneurial mindset and strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient use of CRM systems and MS Office; good English skills.
