At Topps Deutschland – Fanatics Collectibles, you will play a vital role in supporting financial operations with a special focus on customer and sales-related processes. This position provides an excellent opportunity to grow within a global organization, gain experience across both AR and AP, and contribute directly to the company’s commercial success.

The Assistant Accountant supports the Finance function across accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), and general accounting tasks, while placing a strong emphasis on sales operations support. This includes managing sales orders, customer invoicing, payment collections, and cross‑functional collaboration with Sales, Logistics, and Customer Service to ensure smooth order‑to‑cash processes. This is a full‑time role, in the designated office five days per week.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable (AR) & Sales Support

Process and monitor sales orders, ensuring accurate alignment with logistics and shipments.
Prepare, issue, and send customer invoices in a timely manner.
Maintain customer account records and handle billing‑ or payment‑related inquiries.
Chase outstanding payments and support credit control activities, including monitoring overdue balances and escalating issues where needed.
Reconcile sales accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Support the sales team with financial reporting on customer balances and payment status.
Maintain and update customer contacts and CRM records in coordination with Sales.

Accounts Payable (AP)

Process supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely payments.
Assist with vendor account reconciliations and respond to supplier inquiries.
Support payment runs and ensure adherence to company policies and timelines.

General Accounting Support

Perform bank reconciliations, ensuring all AR and AP transactions are recorded correctly.
Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing processes, particularly revenue and receivables reporting.
Provide documentation and support during internal and external audits.
Accurately enter and maintain financial data in D365, Oracle, or similar systems.
Monitor expenses and support preparation of financial statements as required.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Process Improvement

Work closely with Sales, Logistics, and Customer Service to ensure a seamless order‑to‑cash and procure‑to‑pay process.
Identify opportunities to streamline finance and sales processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Support ad‑hoc projects and assist senior accountants or management as required.

Qualifications

Degree or vocational training in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
1–3 years of relevant accounting experience in accounts receivable and/or accounts payable.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting systems (D365, Oracle, or similar) is a plus.
Strong understanding of accounting principles; knowledge of German HGB and IFRS is an advantage.
Fluency in German and English with strong communication skills.
Excellent accuracy and attention to detail in data entry and financial reporting.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of VAT regulations and sales tax requirements is beneficial.
Industry experience in collectibles, trading cards, or consumer goods is a plus, but not required.
