Job Summary
We are a U.S.-based medical device company expanding into Germany and the EU. As we establish our European operations, we are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive professional to serve as a foundational member of our German team. The role is critical in ensuring smooth order-to-cash cycles, compliant operational processes, and exceptional customer support across the EU.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the first-line contact for customer inquiries related to orders, shipments, invoices, and product availability; support the sales team with pricing, quotations, and order confirmations; maintain customer account information and onboard new clients.
- Manage accounts receivable and invoicing processes for EU customers; support financial reporting and reconciliation; coordinate shipping, inventory, and logistics; collaborate with cross-functional teams and assist in developing and implementing operational processes.
- Coordinate order processing, shipping, and delivery for customers in Germany and the EU; manage relationships with freight forwarders and warehouse operations; ensure proper import/export documentation; track shipments and resolve delivery issues.
Qualifications and Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in AR, logistics, or operations roles—preferably within a German or EU corporate environment.
- Strong understanding of German/EU invoicing requirements, VAT rules, and basic accounting principles.
- Experience coordinating logistics within the EU and working with third‑party logistics or freight partners.
- Customer‑centric mindset with strong communication skills (written & spoken).
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of billing practices, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with EU import rules, IOR/EOR processes, and customs documentation.
- Experience working with a U.S. parent company or in a startup/scaling environment.
