Actuary / Mathematician Risk Management (Role 2900)

Join us at Hannover Re for a 24‑month temporary assignment in our Group Risk Management team at our headquarters in Hannover, Germany. The role begins as soon as possible and is focused on actuarial and mathematical support for risk management.

Responsibilities

• Active participation in the operational core processes of the internal model, particularly in the quarterly model runs for the Hannover Re Group and its various entities.
• Interdisciplinary collaboration with various interfaces (e.g., with other departments or with BaFin).
• Execution of regular model runs and preparation of result reports for multiple Hannover Re units.
• Generation of key risk figures, performance of analyses and contribution to a wide range of internal model applications.
• Implementation of model changes, including change analyses and validation activities.

Qualifications

• A completed degree in (business) mathematics, physics or a related quantitative field.
• Initial experience in the (re)insurance industry, ideally gained through internships.
• Programming skills in MATLAB are an advantage; strong proficiency in MS Office.
• Proficient user skills in both English and German, combined with strong communication skills.
• A creative and conceptual mindset, marked by curiosity, collegiality, reliability and strong problem‑solving abilities.
