The Weierstrass Institute for Applied Analysis and Stochastics (WIAS) is an institute of the Forschungsverbund Berlin e.V. (FVB). The FVB comprises seven non-university research institutes in Berlin which are funded by the federal and state governments. The research institutes belong to the Leibniz Association.

The MaRDI administrative office located in WIAS is looking for a candidate to start as soon as possible.

The candidate will work at WIAS, in Berlin, alongside the Scientific Co-ordinator, Finance Administrator, and our two Senior Scientists.

The work tasks include:

1. Establishing, maintaining and managing a progress reporting system with the MaRDI Task Area Representatives.
2. Providing administrative support, including following up on outstanding tasks, event organisation, and bridging gaps in workflows.
3. Onboarding new staff members and being the contact point for the MaRDI collaborative platform: Email, GitLab, Rocket.Chat, MaRDI Cloud.
4. Representing MaRDI in NFDI meetings.

We are looking for a candidate who:

1. Has a Bachelor’s degree in any scientific discipline.
2. Has an interest and/or some experience in project management within science.
3. Can take initiative and is adaptable.
4. Is comfortable working in German.

The working hours are 19.5 hours per week, and the position is initially limited until December 31, 2024, with the possibility of an extension.
