AI/ML Engineer with Cybersecurity Focus

Terma Group seeks an AI/ML Engineer to develop a scalable, service-oriented platform infrastructure supporting advanced cybersecurity and AI functions while ensuring compatibility with Galileo Ground Segment constraints. The platform aims to demonstrate continuous vulnerability management and cyber vulnerability fixing without impacting operations, and could serve as a building block for the future Galileo Ground Segment.

Key responsibilities:

• Demonstrate continuous vulnerability management and cyber vulnerability fixing without impacting operations.
• Demonstrate the concept of zero obsolescence, with continuous upgrades not impacting operations.
• Demonstrate how AI can optimize and facilitate operations and ground segment maintenance activities.
• Use‑cases Analysis, Solution Intent Design and Development Environment Preparation.
• Platform Development.
• Applications Development.
• Use‑cases Demonstration.

Required skills:

Programming:

• Advanced proficiency in Python, including libraries such as Pandas, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and scikit‑learn.
• Experience with at least one systems‑level programming language such as Rust, C, or C++ is desired.

AI/ML Expertise:

• Hands‑on experience with end‑to‑end AI/ML workflows: data preprocessing, model training, fine‑tuning, and deployment.
• Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs), including prompt engineering and safe/secure LLM deployment practices.
• Knowledge and experience using the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to integrate and mediate the usage of external tools with LLMs.
• Understanding and practical use of vector databases for semantic retrieval and LLM augmentation workflows.
• Experience designing and implementing AI‑driven solutions that leverage LLM‑agent architectures for automated or semi‑automated tasks.

Software Engineering:

• Competent in software refactoring, debugging, and unit/system testing.
• Experience managing CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless software deployment.

Web & API Development:

• Practical experience in developing web frontends with frameworks such as Dash, Streamlit, or Gradio desired but not required.
• Proficiency in building and managing APIs using libraries such as FastAPI.

Containerization & CI/CD:

• Hands‑on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools: GitLab CI, and reproducibility tools for ML such as Data Version Control (DVC) and MLflow.

Cybersecurity Expertise:

• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, including the ability to conduct code vulnerability reviews.
• Basic knowledge on penetration testing and vulnerability exploitation.

Documentation & Communication:

• Strong technical writing skills with fluency in English.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Work Style:

• Ability to work autonomously while also thriving in collaborative settings within multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred additional qualifications:

• Familiarity with time‑series anomaly detection techniques.
• Understanding of agile methodologies and advanced ML model development principles.
