AIRBUS: Quality Conformance Manager (d/m/w) Safety Management System

Join AIRBUS as Quality Conformance Manager (m/f/d) in the Safety Management System (SMS) for the A320 Family

This role is closely linked to FAL Production and Quality and involves intensive cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the Safety Management System by handling cases raised within the FAL Hamburg SMS perimeter, including continuous improvement of process application
• Analyse aviation safety-related speak-ups in order to define and implement immediate containment actions, perform thorough root cause analyses, define and implement permanent corrective actions, and verify their effectiveness
• Lead or participate in multifunctional teams and act as an interface to involved stakeholders (e.g. Safety Item Managers, Quality Conformance Managers and departments such as Manufacturing Engineering)
• Fulfil the tasks and responsibilities of SMS network members, including the recording and documentation of employee speak-ups
• Perform data analysis to enable effective monitoring and reporting of activities and to support decision-making within the SMS network
• Define, adapt and maintain local governance, including related documentation
• Prepare and support audits in coordination with the SMS network as required
• Plan and execute continuous improvement and preventive measures, including decision-making responsibilities
• Organise and coordinate regular progress meetings, SMS case review meetings and other local SMS-related meetings
• Manage the backlog and regular inflow of SMS cases
• Foster cross-fertilisation among SMS case managers to enhance organisational learning
• Ensure a high level of communication between the SMS network, relevant stakeholders within FAL Hamburg and other ecosystems
• Address complex cross-functional issues in a dynamic and volatile environment

Qualifications

• Completed degree in engineering, aerospace engineering, industrial engineering or a comparable qualification
• Professional experience in quality management, project management, process improvement and/or engineering
• Experience in data analysis
• Good knowledge of lean management and total quality management
• Basic knowledge of Kaizen and risk management
• In-depth practical knowledge of SAP; experience with Google Workspace is an advantage
• Business-fluent proficiency in German and English
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage complexity
• Ability to work with diverse stakeholders and to lead multifunctional teams
• High level of initiative, autonomy and organisational skills
• Good presentation skills for reporting within the SMS network
