Position available full‑time, immediately, at the Chair of Robotics and System Intelligence (RSI), part of the faculties of Electrical Engineering, Information Technology and Computer Science. RSI is a newly founded research and teaching unit focused on mechatronics, intelligent robotics, prosthetics, collective robot learning, machine intelligence fundamentals and nonlinear control. It offers a holistic concept with research‑near lectures, laboratories and student projects.

We are looking for a leading academic director or senior engineer to join our team.

Qualifications

• Outstanding PhD in Robotics, Autonomous Systems, Nonlinear Control, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering Sciences or related fields.
• Multi‑year experience in a leadership position in robotics, engineering, computer science or related fields.
• In‑depth knowledge and experience in robotics, control engineering and mechatronics.
• Programming skills in C, C++, Maple, MATLAB.
• Experience with ROS and Linux.
• Excellent English skills.
• Willingness to travel.
• High motivation and ability to work in an international and interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and organize a research group, supervising PhD students and student staff.
• Responsible for the research laboratory.
• Manage research project proposals and administrative processing.
• Publish research results in leading journals and robotics conferences.
• Conduct independent research and develop, plan, and teach courses.
