Overall Purpose of the Job
You will join MUFG’s Frankfurt-based European Structured Finance team and provide support to enable the development, execution and management of structured and project finance debt and advisory products across the Energy, Infrastructure and Advisory teams.
Function Positioning
ESFO is a market-leading Structured and Project Finance business that advises on and arranges financing of large‑scale projects in the wider infrastructure and energy space. Many projects relate to global trends such as: digitisation, energy transition, and new build of key infrastructure.
- Digitisation (e.g., fibre networks, mobile phone towers, datacentres)
- Energy transition (renewable energy projects, transmission grids, biofuels, e‑fuels, Hydrogen, LNG, CCS, power generation)
- New build of key infrastructure (including transportation & social infrastructure, EV‑infrastructure, waste management/energy from waste)
The role includes the following responsibilities
- Conduct product and market research from generalised and specialist sources, extract relevant information and summarise data to inform decision‑making at senior levels.
- Use existing models to analyse product performance, identify simple patterns and trends to support decisions relating to product development or marketing.
- Coordinate the production of credit applications with colleagues in the credit function, using a standard template for generic sections.
- Liaise with clients at a counterpart level to relay specific information and respond to routine queries, ensuring a high level of customer service.
- Build relationships throughout the bank to establish a peer network, gather relevant information and help ensure effective inter‑departmental collaboration.
- Account for initial compliance checks in line with internal and external processes and procedures.
- Develop a practical understanding of core systems and procedures within ESFO and their link to standard systems to respond to enquiries.
- Assist in the preparation of marketing materials (including proposals and pitches).
Functional / Technical Competencies
- Relevant degree.
- Knowledge of credit, risk management, market and legal aspects of structured / project finance.
- Analytical skills including ability to run simple financial models.

Additional Information
The role is based in Frankfurt. All candidates need to be willing to relocate to Frankfurt. Internal employees will be supported in case of relocation.
