We are currently looking for a Application Laboratory Technician to join our growing team in Saarbrücken. This position is well suited for entry-level candidates, and as an innovative and growing company, we encourage your development and offer opportunities to grow within the organization.

Job Objective

The Application Laboratory Technician will play a central role in supporting the operation and development of the ceramic membrane application laboratory by conducting hands‑on experimental testing, maintaining laboratory systems, and delivering accurate results that advance global R&D and application development.

Main Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain lab‑scale ceramic membrane filtration systems, including assembly, experimental testing, monitoring of key parameters (flow, TMP, turbidity, TSS, pH, COD), and membrane cleaning/regeneration.
• Ensure laboratory safety, cleanliness, and compliance with chemical handling, waste disposal, and PPE standards; support inspections and basic equipment troubleshooting.
• Calibrate and maintain analytical instruments; collect, document, and organize experimental data; assist in preparation of technical reports.
• Collaborate with Application Engineers and R&D teams to execute test plans, implement process improvements, and support quality and certification documentation.
• Manage laboratory inventory, including consumables, chemicals, and spare parts; assist in procurement to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, process engineering, or a related technical field.
• Additional certification or training in water treatment, membrane technology, or lab operations is an advantage.
• Experience with filtration system operation, maintenance, and calibration of laboratory instruments.
• Proficiency in lab equipment (pumps, sensors, flow meters, pH/conductivity/turbidity) and basic mechanical/electrical troubleshooting.
• Strong data management skills, including recording, analysis, and documentation using digital tools.
• Fluent in German and English.
• Strong attention to detail, safety‑conscious, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
