Area Service manager – Disability Residential services – Leinster/ Munster region

Salary: €59,500-€77,500 + €2,000 for on call per annum

Reporting to: Head of Operations (HOO)
Location: Dedicated Geographic Territory

Overall Objective:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Area Service Manager to oversee the delivery of exceptional care in the community within your assigned region. This role is pivotal to our success, offering you the opportunity to lead, inspire, and grow a team of carers while driving business expansion and service excellence. The hours are flexible to meet the demands of your role, providing you with the autonomy to manage your territory effectively.

As the Area Service Manager, you will collaborate closely with the Management Team to ensure the safe, efficient, and profitable provision of care services. You will be the key point of contact for your team and service users, responsible for maintaining high standards of care and fostering strong relationships. Your role is central to the success of your region, encompassing growth, team development, and the continuous improvement of services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the service delivered meets the identified needs and wishes of the people that we support, allowing for active participation and engagement, including the management and analysis of complaints.
  • Actively promote a culture of continuous improvement where shared learning opportunities are optimised and national/international best practice is embedded at the earliest opportunity. This will be achieved through working in collaboration with colleagues across Group.
  • Lead and direct operational staff within services to ensure that robust people management principles are embedded so as to foster a strong cross-functional team working ethos; identification and development of emerging talent; development of a performance management culture; as well as clear communication of the team’s progress in meeting its performance objectives working closely with the Head of Services.
  • Ensure that quality and safety is at the forefront of service provision and the services delivered across the services adhere to internal and external quality and registration standards. This will bemeasured through participation compliance with all relevant service evaluation mechanisms applicable within services arrangements and external regulatory bodies. This will be achieved through close working with colleagues from the Quality and Governance division.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a Level 8 on the QQI Framework – BA in Social Care Studies or equivalent relevant qualification in Health or Social Care or in a relevant professional discipline. Nursing, Psychology, Behaviour Support Speciality
  • Post graduate qualification ideally in Social Care Management or Management Qualification
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in management or supervisory role in the area of health or social care.
  • Experience of ensuring services are run in accordance with HIQA regulations.
  • Demonstrable and operational knowledge of HIQA and relevant legislation, policies and procedures
  • Candidates must possess the competencies and skills appropriate to working with persons with an intellectual disability.
