GSI Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung in Darmstadt operates one of the leading particle accelerators for science. In the next few years, the new FAIR (Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research) one of the world‘s largest research projects, will be built in international cooperation. The Experiment Electronics department supports science experiments and projects at GSI/FAIR in all electronics‑related tasks. Our strength is detector readout, data acquisition, data analysis, and the monitoring and control of single detectors, and complex large scale detector systems. We support scientists in planning, implementation and application of novel technologies, including those that go beyond state‑of‑the‑art systems.
To keep pace with the ever‑increasing demand of the experiments for innovative developments, we are looking for an ASIC (Digital) Design Engineer (all genders).
The ASIC design group is engaged in the design, subsequent test and characterization of highly complex mixed‑signal ASICs. Therefor a powerful CAD environment for design and simulation, a modern machinery under clean room conditions and a well‑equipped test laboratory is available.
Furthermore, the working group is embedded in the team of the experiment electronics department with about 30 highly skilled and qualified people. We offer exceptional expertise in analog and digital electronics.
The position is permanent. Salary is equivalent to that for public employees as specified in the collective agreement for public employees (TVöD Bund).
