Overview

Alpadia Language Schools from Kaplan International Languages offers all-year round schools in Montreux, Berlin, Freiburg and Lyon, teaching French and German. Alpadia also provides English, French and German summer courses for juniors and teens in Europe and North America. Established in 1996, our mission is to encourage language development through immersion and to expand the horizons of our students, to inspire their future.

Responsibilities

The Assistant Camp Manager collaborates with the Camp Manager to ensure the efficient management and smooth running of the camp. Responsibilities include supervising teaching and activity staff, managing the Activity Leader team, creating activity schedules, managing risks, liaising with external activity partners, and ensuring a respectful, inspiring and safe camp experience for all students.

Qualifications

Essential Criteria

Experience in staff management and leadership in a professional setting.
Experience working with children or young people in a professional capacity.
Some German proficiency (spoken B1-B2 minimum) and ability to liaise with activity providers.
Fluency in English.
High level self-sufficiency, growth mindset, and proven track record of solution-oriented problem solving skills.
High physical, mental and emotional resilience.
High energy level, excitement and comfort speaking in front of large groups.
Availability during management training in Berlin (June 10-17, 2025) and the entire summer season (June 24-August 9).

Desired Criteria

Fluency in German and English.
Experience in outdoor education or summer camps.
Driver’s License, and ability to drive a minivan.

What We Offer

A weekly summer salary of EUR 810-900, DOE.
7 days of pre-summer management training on child development, outdoor facilitation and solution-focused, positive behavior support and conflict resolution techniques.
First Aid and CPR Certification.
Full Room and Board with a private room during the entirety of the summer.
