Assistant Sales Manager

A well‑known Japanese trading house is currently recruiting an Assistant Sales Manager to work in their Düsseldorf office. In this role, you will be responsible for managing sales and marketing activities to customers and/or suppliers, developing new business opportunities, and maintaining long‑term relationships within the import and export trading business for machinery. The ideal candidate should have experience in import/export trading, strong communication skills, and technical knowledge of machinery. Business level of English and German is mandatory.

Assistant Sales Manager Main Responsibilities

• Managing sales and marketing activities to customers and/or suppliers based on their portfolios with growing track record
• Building and maintaining long‑term relationship with customers and/or suppliers at all levels
• Proactively developing new business opportunities in responsibility area
• Identifying business opportunities, initialising contacts with new customers and/or suppliers
• Providing technical product information via suppliers and promoting those kinds of products to potential customers
• Reporting effectively to management verbally and in writing

Assistant Sales Manager Ideal Candidate

• Qualified in international trading business (import & export) and has at least 3 years of job experience in this field
• Experience in managing customers and business in wider range and proactively developing new business opportunities
• Substantial knowledge of products, equipment and solutions related to section strategy
• Advanced Microsoft Excel & Word skills
• Advanced knowledge of Japanese language, coming from experience of working in a Japanese company would be advantageous
• Business level fluency in English and German
