About the Role

As an Associate Financial Accountant, you will support the Senior Legal Entity Controller, Germany in managing financial reporting and transactions for the German entities and take ownership of core accounting processes. This is a full‑time role (part‑time arrangements may be considered) with responsibilities including:

  • Work closely with the Senior Legal Entity Controller Germany and cross‑functional teams (accounting, product control, and tax) to ensure smooth coordination across the global finance function.
  • Help with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with applicable accounting standards and internal company policies.
  • Support indirect and direct tax processes, including ensuring compliance with German tax regulations, and coordinating with external tax advisors on tax preparation, documentation and reviews.
  • Help maintain compliance with relevant local, national, and international financial and tax regulations.
  • Contribute to audits and review new business activities in the German entities under HGB and IFRS, including coordination with external auditors, internal stakeholders, and accounting/VAT treatment.
  • Maintain and reconcile German financial accounts, including ledgers, bank accounts, and balance sheets, while supporting financial planning and forecasting activities.
  • Help the implementation, improvement, and maintenance of financial controls and procedures to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.
  • Assist with the system transition project (NetSuite to SAP) planned for 2026.

About You

We are looking for a hands‑on Associate Financial Accountant to further support our Finance team's day‑to‑day accounting tasks and priorities.

The following education, experiences and skills are essential for application:

  • Degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, or a relevant German accounting qualification (e.g., Bilanzbuchhalter/in, Finanzbuchhalter/in).
  • 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience, including internships or student roles.
  • Solid foundation in financial accounting standards (HGB required; IFRS experience is a plus), with attention to detail and a methodical approach to reporting.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and comfortable working with numerical data and financial information.
  • High level of integrity and accuracy, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure a compliant and reliable accounting function.
  • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Fluency in German (minimum C1) and proficiency in English, with clear and professional communication skills.

In addition, the below skills / qualifications are not required, but highly desirable for this role.

  • Experience as an Associate Financial Accountant or in a similar role, with an interest in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Experience with accounting software, preferably NetSuite and/or SAP.
