About the Role
As an Audio SW Test Engineer, you will join the Immersive Audio Team within HARMAN Research, the organization responsible for developing advanced technologies that support HARMAN’s Automotive, Lifestyle, and Professional product lines. In this role, you will test and validate real‑time audio algorithms, applications, and prototype systems on a variety of hardware platforms, supporting research activities, as well as technology demonstrations.
You will contribute to validation activities by conducting acoustic measurements, executing software test procedures, and supporting test plans that help ensure performance, robustness, and readiness for transfer to commercialization teams.
Responsibilities
- Test and evaluate performance of DSP algorithms and audio systems, including data analysis.
- Test software applications that are used to evaluate existing technologies for market readiness through benchmarking.
- Perform system integration and release testing.
- Maintain tools and procedures for acoustic algorithms testing and validation.
- Support implementation and evaluation of proof‑of‑concept audio systems to support research and technology demonstrations.
- Write technical and user documentation for applications and developed technologies.
- Bug triage and handling.
- Support smooth technology transfer to commercialization teams through structured validation documentation and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
- BSc degree in one of the following fields: Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, acoustics, etc. and 3 years of relevant industry experience.
- Understanding of audio DSP principles.
- Experience with audio DSP analysis: MATLAB.
- Hands‑on experience with continuous integration systems and agile SW development (GIT).
- Use of scripts to automate testing.
- Experience with acoustic measurements and recording analysis.
- Business fluent in English (verbal and written).
- Innovative, resilient and result driven personality with interest in audio technologies.
Bonus Points
- Experience implementing and porting audio DSP algorithms.
- Experience with professional R&D measurement and analysis systems: Audio Precision audio analyzers, Signal Analyzers, LabVIEW.
Eligibility
- Willingness to work on‑site 3 days a week.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
