Role

6 month contract project based role, possibility of extension.

About the Role

The Automation Technical Lead will lead and perform review of automation‑related documentation, including design documents, specifications, configuration reports, and test protocols. They will ensure data integrity compliance across all automated systems and provide technical expertise for Siemens TIA Portal environments (PLC, HMI, SCADA architectures). The engineer will support and evaluate Aveva PI / OSIsoft PI system configurations, historian set‑ups, and data flows and assess and advise on Active Directory (AD) integration. There is a strong focus on collaboration with internal teams and vendors to align with customer requirements and GMP expectations.

Requirements

• Strong expertise in industrial automation (PLC, SCADA, HMI), ideally with Siemens TIA Portal.
• Proven experience with Aveva PI / OSIsoft PI infrastructure.
• Deep understanding of Data Integrity principles within GxP environments.
• Knowledge of network architectures, cybersecurity concepts, and AD‑based access management.
• Experience in reviewing and approving automation and validation documentation.
• Ability to work client‑side, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and provide technical leadership.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Fluent German.
