You Are:

You are an experienced engineering professional with a passion for automotive safety and cybersecurity. Your expertise is rooted in a deep understanding of semiconductor development flows, functional safety management, and hardware lifecycle processes. You thrive in dynamic, cross-functional environments, collaborating with both internal teams and external customers to deliver world-class IP solutions that meet the highest standards of safety and reliability. You are driven by the challenge of ensuring compliance with globally recognized standards such as ISO 26262 and ISO21434, and you bring a meticulous approach to managing complex work products and project deliverables.

Possessing strong leadership and project management skills, you excel at coordinating diverse teams, tracking progress, and driving quality outcomes. Your hands-on experience with technical safety concepts, FMEA/FMDA analyses, and safety cases enables you to provide critical insights and guidance throughout the product lifecycle, from concept to qualification. You are comfortable navigating the nuances of automotive reliability standards and quality frameworks, and you bring a continuous improvement mindset to every initiative.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Managing all work products outlined in the project Safety Plan and Cybersecurity Plan, ensuring timely and thorough delivery.
  • Overseeing the creation, review, and approval of work products derived from safety and cybersecurity requirements across all product lifecycle phases (Concept, Architectural, and Hardware levels).
  • Coordinating with internal development teams and global automotive customers to ensure full compliance with functional safety, cybersecurity, and reliability standards.
  • Collaborating closely with product teams to evaluate and address customer requirements related to quality, safety, cybersecurity, and reliability.
  • Leading project and task planning, progress tracking, and reporting in coordination with cross-functional teams.
  • Participating in and facilitating quality, functional safety, and cybersecurity reviews; preparing comprehensive reports and recommendations.
  • Maintaining and continuously enhancing functional safety and cybersecurity methodologies, templates, and best practices.

  • Support Synopsys’ leadership in automotive innovation by developing and enhancing industry-leading safety and security practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that shape the future of automotive IP safety, reliability, and compliance.

What You’ll Need:

  • BSEE in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of relevant experience or MSEE with 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Formal training in ISO 26262 and working knowledge of ISO21434.
  • Expertise in one or more automotive protocols (DDR, PCIE, UCIE).
  • Proven experience as a Functional Safety Manager in safety-critical applications, especially at the IP and hardware levels.
  • Hands-on experience with ISO 26262 work products, including Technical Safety Concept, Safety Plan, FMEA/FMDA Analysis, Dependent Fault Analysis, Safety Manual, and Safety Case.
  • Experience qualifying systems with embedded hardware to various ISO 26262 ASIL levels, up to ASIL D.
  • Proficiency in English and in using tools such as JAMA, DOORS, or similar requirements management platforms.
  • Knowledge of automotive reliability standards (e.g., AEC Q100) and quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949) is an advantage.
  • PMP certification is highly desirable.
