Senior Backend Engineer (Python / Django)

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to play a central role in building and scaling a fast-growing digital platform.

The Role

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will take ownership of backend development — designing, building, and maintaining robust, scalable software that powers the platform. You’ll work closely with frontend, product, and data teams to ensure seamless functionality and deliver exceptional user experiences.
Your impact will be directly visible in how users interact with the product and how internal systems scale to meet growing demands.

Key Responsibilities

• Software Engineering – Design, implement, and optimize backend services, APIs, and data pipelines.
• System Architecture – Contribute to designing scalable, reliable, and secure system architectures.
• DevOps Ownership – Oversee deployment, monitoring, and performance of the systems you build.
• Cloud-First Approach – Build and scale services within a cloud-native infrastructure (e.g., Kubernetes, GCP/AWS).
• Testing & Optimization – Ensure quality through automated testing, performance tuning, and continuous improvement.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration – Partner with product managers, designers, and engineers to align on priorities and drive results.

Ideal Profile

Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in backend or full-stack development, with strong expertise in Python and Django (or a similar web framework).
Technical Strengths: Experience with REST APIs, cloud environments, and CI/CD workflows.
Mindset: Product-oriented thinking — you understand how engineering decisions impact user experience and business outcomes.
Team Collaboration: Strong communicator who enjoys knowledge sharing, pair programming, and supporting team development.

Languages: Professional proficiency in English; German language skills are a plus.
