Snout App is a fast-growing startup reimagining how dog training works for modern families. They believe training shouldn’t feel overwhelming, inconsistent, or confusing. It should feel guided, personalized, and achievable.

Snout App combines science-backed training methods, certified trainer expertise, and intelligent technology to create adaptive training plans that evolve with each dog’s progress. Through AI-powered video feedback and personalized recommendations, the app helps pet parents build confidence, solve real behavioral challenges, and strengthen the bond with their dogs.

They are building something meaningful — a product that genuinely improves daily life for dogs and the humans who love them.

Snout App is a small, high-ownership startup team moving quickly toward MVP launch. They are now looking for a hands‑on Backend Engineer who wants to help ship core functionality and bring this product to life.

This is not a maintenance role.

This is a build, own, and launch role.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll work directly with the CTO to implement and deliver key backend milestones, including:

• User authentication and onboarding (AWS Cognito)
• Subscription and payment management
• GraphQL API development
• Backend architecture implementation in AWS
• Database design and integration (PostgreSQL)
• Close collaboration with the iOS developer for seamless integration
• Contributing to secure, scalable, production‑ready infrastructure

You will be evaluated based on deliverables, not hours.

Tech Stack (Required Experience)

You must have direct, hands‑on experience with:

• Node.jsTypeScriptAWS (production environments)
• GraphQL APIs
• AWS Cognito
• Relational databases (PostgreSQL‑level experience)

This is not a “learn on the job” role. They need someone who has built and shipped using this stack before.

• Structure: Milestone‑based payments
• Start: Immediate
• Location: Remote, LATAM
• Language: English preferred; strong Spanish‑speaking candidates welcome
• Time zone: Flexible; however, must attend dev syncs at 5pm PT (minimum twice per week)You may work on other projects provided milestones are delivered on time
