Backend/DevOps Engineer

Job Summary

An AI-focused startup based in Berlin is looking for a Senior Backend / DevOps Engineer to help build and scale a production-grade platform used by data- and ML-driven teams. You'll work close to the core of the product, owning backend systems and infrastructure that power AI workloads in real-world environments.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Go (Golang)


• Own and evolve cloud‑native infrastructure based on Kubernetes


• Collaborate closely with ML engineers to support model training, deployment, and inference


• Improve system reliability, observability, and performance in production


• Contribute to architectural decisions and long‑term technical strategy


• Automate deployments, scaling, and operational workflows

What we're looking for

• Strong professional experience with Golang in production systems


• Hands‑on experience running and operating Kubernetes at scale


• Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar)


• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure‑as‑code, and monitoring


• Comfortable working in a fast‑moving startup environment


• Pragmatic mindset with a focus on reliability and simplicity

Nice to have

• Experience supporting AI/ML workloads or data‑intensive systems


• Familiarity with Terraform, Helm, Prometheus, or similar tools


• Previous experience in early‑stage or scaling startups
