Purpose of Your Job
As a Lab IT Specialist, you will ensure that Coriolis’ laboratory IT systems run smoothly, reliably, and in compliance with all quality standards. The role is central to maintaining seamless lab IT workflows, managing infrastructure, providing on‑site technical support, and overseeing system setup, maintenance, and qualification. You’ll act as the key link between scientists, lab technicians, IT infrastructure colleagues, and software vendors, helping to optimize processes and keep laboratory operations running efficiently. Additionally, you will contribute to data integrity, compliance, and the continuous improvement of our technological laboratory environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide maintenance and technical support for laboratory IT systems and equipment to ensure functionality and reliability.
- Manage lab IT systems during their entire lifecycle in accordance with applicable quality standards, including GxP standards.
- Monitor and maintain lab IT systems to detect and resolve issues early.
- Perform maintenance (e.g., patching, updates) on lab IT systems to minimize downtime and maximize performance.
- Configure systems and troubleshoot in cooperation with analytical system owners, infrastructure IT, and software vendors.
- Manage relationships with lab IT vendors and ensure effective communication and collaboration for support and issue resolution.
- Drive GxP‑compliant system validation and documentation together with IT and GxP specialists.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and CAPAs related to lab IT.
- Assist in managing and resolving incidents related to lab IT to minimize downtime and disruptions.
- Document incidents, conduct root‑cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Work closely with lab technicians and scientists to ensure proper use of laboratory systems, including backup routines, disaster recovery plans, user management, audit trail implementation, and all measures to secure lab data integrity.
- Take over application ownership for (virtual) servers and other IT infrastructure components.
- Maintain personal GMP qualification through ongoing trainings.
- Interface with Coriolis LIMS/ELN team.
Qualifications
- University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
- Certification in CSV, GxP compliance, and/or LIMS is beneficial.
- 3–5 years of experience in technical support and maintenance of laboratory systems and equipment.
- Knowledge of lab IT lifecycle management and preventive maintenance.
- Strong skills in providing on‑site technical support and resolving IT‑related issues.
- Good understanding of IT infrastructure components and experience with computer system validation.
- Ability to troubleshoot software and hardware issues in laboratory systems.
- Familiarity with IT security, user access control, audit trail handling, and data integrity requirements.
- Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems as well as database setup and management.
- Strong communication and training skills, especially with non‑technical lab users.
- Fluency in German and English (written and spoken).
- High sense of responsibility, accuracy, and compliance awareness.
- Team‑oriented mindset with the ability to work in a cross‑functional setting and collaborate effectively with lab technicians and scientists.
- Strong analytical thinking, structured problem‑solving, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills.
- Availability to work on site in Martinsried.
