CAE/SPI (SmartPlant Instrumentation) Administrator (m/w/d)

Join the Hegmanns Gruppe as a CAE/SPI Administrator and support the automation and process engineering sector in Gelsenkirchen, North Rhine-Westphalia.

Responsibilities

• Administration and Customizing of CAE systems with a focus on SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI).
• Conduct requirements analyses and adapt CAE systems to implement customer and project demands.
• Integrate CAE systems into customer environments and the VTA network.
• Set up and maintain system interfaces and implement master data elements.
• Support troubleshooting and ensure smooth system operation.
• Manage databases for exporting and importing large data sets, especially in data migrations within projects.
• Plan and perform data clean‑ups to ensure data consistency.
• User administration (accesses, permissions, etc.).
• Project management within the CAE system.
• Administration, configuration and use of PowerBI with an interface to SPI as a reporting tool.
• Conduct user training sessions.
• Coordinate technical communication with customers and project teams.
• Create and maintain CAE documentation (e.g., manuals).

Qualifications

• Completed university or technical college studies or a state‑recognised technical qualification in electrical engineering, mechatronics, computer science, automation technology or a comparable qualification. Alternatively: SPI system administrator with long‑term professional experience.
• Fundamental knowledge and long‑term experience in MSR‑CAE systems, especially in SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI), preferably as a system administrator.
• Good knowledge of PowerBI administration is desirable.
• Secure knowledge of common database formats and tools (Oracle, SQL).
• Secure handling of MS Office.
• Deep knowledge of MSR technology, especially field device technology, system technology, circuit technology and explosion protection.
• Good English skills in spoken and written form, sufficient for technical correspondence and conversation.
