You will work as a Category Buyer (m/f/d) within the General Procurement Transport and Logistics Team, accountable for supplier strategy development, sourcing, contracting and management for Airbus Group-wide transport and logistics service providers, including activities related to customs and export control. Airbus General Procurement Transport and Logistics is responsible for securing Airbus Group-wide transport (air, sea and land-based) and logistics solutions for all Airbus sites and divisions by procuring these services from external service providers.
Responsibilities
- Establishing strong relationships with suppliers and the contractualization of commercial terms and conditions to maximize the value added for Airbus
- Managing the end-to-end procurement activity for a portfolio of strategic transport and logistics service providers, including customs, across the Airbus Group
- Supporting and contributing to the deployment of the Airbus Procurement Market Segment Sourcing Strategy for transport and logistics, including associated policies
- Performing market intelligence evaluations in line with the Market Segment Sourcing Strategy
- Supporting and managing call-for-tenders (CFTs), including contract drafting and commercial negotiations, to achieve best-in-class purchasing solutions in line with internal customer needs, company requirements and in compliance with procurement processes and policies
- Supporting Multi-functional and Multi-divisional Teams (MFT/MDT) throughout the CFT and contract lifecycle phases, especially regarding service provider performance monitoring and continuous improvements up to claim management, including the lead for commercial settlement
- Establishing, expanding and intensifying long-term relationships with 3PL/4PL transport service providers and logistics service providers to ensure Airbus remains the preferred customer
- Managing internal stakeholders during all phases of the engagement with the service providers, particularly in cases of service evolution and during periods of crisis requiring strong support and close collaboration with the providers
- Supporting specific projects to advance Airbus’ strategic roadmaps in the fields of sustainability, supply chain resilience, competitiveness, digitalization and innovation
Qualifications
- A degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain / Logistics, or a comparable field
- Professional experience in procurement, supplier management, logistics and contract management
- First experience in project management
- German and French language skills are an advantage
- The ability to integrate into multicultural and cross-functional teams and to stand in for one another in work tasks
- Independent, structured and results-oriented working style combined with strong analytical skills
- A high level of persuasiveness and assertiveness to effectively represent relevant interests
