Our client is a Dutch company and one of the largest dredging companies in the world. main activities are land reclamation, the construction and maintenance of ports and waterways, the protection of coasts and shores, and offshore activities.

What will you do in this position?

In the role of Chief Surveyor, you're capable of managing large multi-disciplinary national or international teams of surveyors on any major and complex projects, ensuring that all the disciplines within the project are supplied with the correct data. You advise the project leaders on optimum project execution.

What are your key responsibilities?

• To plan and manage the execution of survey operations;
• To manage the data processing; (to manage the) analysis of complex survey data;
• Management of setting up and executing complex volume calculations;
• Drawing up complex plans and monitoring survey work (preparation, execution, assessment);
• Decides on the use of the right survey equipment and working method;
• Responsible for timely calibration and/or field check of used survey equipment;
• Analysing and independently resolving problems (or having them resolved);
• Managing the national (or international) Survey team.

Who are you?

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree;
• At least 10 years work experience acquired on a variety of projects using a range of techniques and sorts of equipment;
• A good command of English, spoken and written;
• Natural People Manager and commands respect on the basis of your seniority;
• Copes well with stress, predicts bottlenecks and focuses on the main issues, leaving others to take care of the details;
• Helicopter view;
• Commercially oriented and takes a cost-aware approach.
