Chief Technology Officer

We currently have an opportunity for a hands-on CTO to join a PE-backed, SaaS business undergoing a significant technical transformation and re-platforming - moving from a legacy Gen1 platform, leapfrogging the industry and building a Gen3 platform with AI embedded from scratch. This role requires a hands-on CTO that has previously built SaaS platforms from scratch coupled with Private Equity / Venture Capital experience. This company will also be on a buy and build mission so experience with technical due-diligence would be additive. This role will own the technology & product innovation initiatives, from strategy through execution, while driving a new AI-first culture. Role Overview:The ideal candidate will have worked across multiple SaaS companies, multiple coding languages and multiple architectures to be able to assess selection and adoption in the future state platformAI & Product Innovation: Lead AI implementation and adoption of an AI first culture, bringing the internal team on journey of what Gen3 AI platforms can look like, managing the culture shift from legacy platforms. Drive the product roadmaps, & potential for product and technology innovation during the platform build from scratch Deep Technical Architecture & Engineering Expertise. Ability to design, build, and troubleshoot scalable cloud-native SaaS platforms while providing hands-on technical leadership. Operational Excellence & Delivery Discipline. Ensures fast, reliable delivery through strong engineering processes, clear KPIs, and robust platform reliability practices.Security, Compliance & Platform Stability. Owns security, data protection, and platform resilience to maintain performance, compliance, and customer trust.Support exit readiness in 18-24 months after the platform buildPartner closely with the Private Equity fund & their investment team throughout. Must haves: Private Equity experience, in a SaaS / Software environment (essential) Formal education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.Extensive hands-on experience as a developer or software engineer (must have written code).Proven ability to review source code, evaluate engineering talent, and guide development practices.
