Join us as a permanent Claims Counsel in the Property & Casualty Claims team at our headquarters in Hannover, Germany. The role commences at the earliest possible date.

Responsibilities

• Handle and evaluate international Property and/or Casualty reinsurance claims in line with internal guidelines and legal frameworks.
• Review coverage, assess liability, and determine appropriate settlements.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues across Claims, Underwriting, Accounting, and other functions.
• Maintain accurate documentation and support reporting activities.
• Contribute to process improvements and the development of team standards.
• Foster a strong team culture through open communication and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

• Degree in Law, Business Administration, Insurance, or a related field.
• Several years of professional experience handling Property and/or Casualty claims, ideally within a (re)insurer environment.
• Experience working in an international context, confident in collaborating across different locations and cultures.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to make sound and well‑justified decisions.
• Strong communication skills, business‑fluent English and conversational German; additional languages are a plus.
• Team‑oriented mindset, combined with a willingness to travel occasionally.
